August Meeting - Panels and Sequences

The topic this month was sets of images whether a panel of prints that are related in some way - subject, treatment, tonal range etc Here the arrangment of the prints and finishing touches are very important. Or a projected sequence where each image should flow into the next either by telling a story or by showing a progression of one image to the next in colour, tone etc

Lots of people brought along images for sequences of DPI or panels of prints (or their digital versions) for us to look at. Everyone agreed that working in panels is an excellent way of improving one's photographic eye and technical skills as well as great fun.

Thanks to Ken, Ian and Ann who brought print panels that had been in past competitions/exhibitions to look at and John and Bob who had new panels for comment.

Paul Ashley brought along a panel of 15 artisitic representation of orchestral players for comment. Although the idea was greatly admired, it wasn't felt that all the underlying images were strong enough.

Bob's proposed PDI Sequence of Gulls Feeding

Shelagh showed us a subject that she is working on 'Water' and a panel of Rock Patterns

Jonathan had a set of monochrome with a bit of colour images from sitting in his car.

Peter Cramp brought two sets of images from South Devon/Dorset coasts. We felt that there are several strong images in the sets but need more variety on the monochrome and some need reprocessing
